How It Started

Brother in Christ,

Pastor Mile McPherson in September of 1999 asked 4 people to come and follow him. He asked us to by faith trust him enough to join him in prayer about starting a church in the San Diego area. Through prayer and fasting the Rock Church was formed in San Diego February of 2000. The first Sunday we had 3,200 people attend our first services. It was an amazing time and God was truly blessing Pastor Miles faith and trust to obey the vision.

In 2003 God blessed me changing my heart and giving me a vision. . On that August day the Lord spoke to me by His Word while I was in a fast seeking His guidance. It is written in my journal 8/11/2003 He gave me a Word out of 1Peter 5:2 in regards to elders in the church “Shepherd the flock of God which is among you, serving as overseers, not by compulsion but willingly, not for dishonest gain but eagerly; and Jeremiah 23:4 I will set up shepherds over them who will feed them: and they shall fear no more, nor be dismayed, nor shall they be lacking,” says the Lord.

The vision revealed a need you must know about that has been placed into the heart, soul and mind of IronMen Ministry Foundation! The Lord is looking for faithful men who have decided to intentionally with purpose make themselves available to Him. These men by faith are trusting in God, leaning on Him and pressing in with a desire to obey His direction and plan for there life. These few mighty men truly seek an eternal loving relationship with Jesus Christ that is real and personal. The men coming into the IronMen Ministry Foundation are those men.

I am making my prayer to the Lord that you also want to be one of those faithful men. I am like all men His creation; He made us all men who are ordinary human beings who fall short of God’s glory everyday. But by His design plan and purpose we can become mighty men in His Army. After fasting and praying asking for God’s guidance and Godly counsel I made the decision to obey what God had put on my heart and began a men’s ministry. With the help of some good friends in leadership we began on a path together that would form and shape the very beginning of what would become a foundation in the Rock Church, a Men’s ministry named Men of the Rock (MOTR).

Revelations 3:21&22 “To him who overcomes I will grant to sit with Me on My throne, as I also overcame and sat down with My Father on His throne.22) He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.”

The Lord is looking for faithful men that will choose to make themselves available to Him whom He can use to change the world. He wants to use you. Will you come and join us as we together learn how to have a continuous loving relationship with Jesus that is real and personal. He is faithful to show us His way and we can come to know Him?
